Tim, thanks for the interaction... always welcomed!

And i don't disagree with you. I don't think art is Christian juscause it's good (which is an opinion and hard to quantify - the idea of good). But i do think lots of things that reflect the good, the true, and the beautiful are probably just as Christian if not more so than a lot of things that self-identify as "Christian". This is a big conversation that i have thought about but haven't totally thought through... i think it's worth having though! And i probably wasn't as clear here as i could have been, sorry about that.

I totally get what Steve and Don are trying to do / trying to avoid, i'm with them! While at the same time i hope Christians can produce art and not fear the connection with the Christian community but rather subvert the dominate mediocrity. But that's a big job... maybe even impossible. And probably not nearly as important as just producing good art!

Thanks Tim!

Nice-looking blog here. I saw it too and really liked it as well (though there were a couple of things I posted I would have liked to have seen).
I love the thought behind your 5th paragraph (good art is Christian ...) but I don't think it's accurate.
Perhaps I am misunderstanding you but I'm not sure calling it a Christian movie is a good thing. Steve, Don and Dan are intentionally not calling it that because of the stigmas associated with those labels.
Good art is good art. Radiohead is good art but I wouldn't call the music/message/work Christian. Spiritual maybe, or godly in the sense that it Yorke and friends imitate the creativity of God but not Christian.
Anyway, appreciate the post, I agree, I hope people see it. I'm just conversing with you here.
Grace and peace.
